Frequently Asked Questions
Is A Star Math free?
Yes — A Star Math is completely free to download and use. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions. All 41 topics and 820 levels are available from day one.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use A Star Math in guest mode without providing any personal information. Your progress will be saved locally on your device. If you create an account, your progress syncs across devices and you can appear on the leaderboard.
What year levels does the app cover?
A Star Math covers six grade levels aligned to the Australian curriculum: Year 6 (fractions, decimals & percentages, BODMAS, measurement, data & chance), Year 7 (integers, ratios & rates, equations, coordinates, geometry), Year 8 (index laws, equations, linear graphs, congruence, probability & data), Year 9 (scientific notation, binomials, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, surface area & volume), Year 10 (linear algebra, expanding & factorising, quadratics, Pythagoras, trigonometry, area & volume, statistics & probability, financial maths), and Math Methods (functions & relations, differentiation, integration, exponential & log, circular functions, probability & statistics) for senior-secondary students moving beyond Year 10.
How do I choose my year level?
Open the Learn or Practice tab and pick your year group from the tabs at the top — you can switch between Year 6 and Math Methods at any time, and your progress in each topic is saved separately.
Can I practise offline or on paper?
Yes — open any topic’s level screen and tap Print to PDF. The app generates a worksheet for your current level with all questions, multiple-choice options, and a full worked answer key, ready to print or save as a PDF and work through offline.
My progress disappeared — what happened?
If you were using guest mode, your progress is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data will erase it. To prevent this, create a free account so your progress is saved to the cloud. If you had an account and your progress is missing, please contact us.
Is there an Android version?
A Star Math is currently available on iOS only. An Android version is planned for a future release.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly in the app: open the Profile tab, tap Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, and your account and all associated data are permanently removed.
Prefer email? Write to privacy@astarlearner.com with the subject line “Delete my account” and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request and delete all associated data within 30 days.
