Is A Star Math free?
Yes — A Star Math is completely free to download and use. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions. All 35 topics and 350 levels are available from day one.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use A Star Math in guest mode without providing any personal information. Your progress will be saved locally on your device. If you create an account, your progress syncs across devices and you can appear on the leaderboard.
What year levels does the app cover?
A Star Math covers five year groups aligned to the Australian curriculum: Year 6 (fractions, decimals & percentages, BODMAS, measurement, data & chance), Year 7 (integers, ratios & rates, equations, coordinates, geometry), Year 8 (index laws, equations, linear graphs, congruence, probability & data), Year 9 (scientific notation, binomials, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, surface area & volume), and Year 10 (linear algebra, expanding & factorising, quadratics, Pythagoras, trigonometry, area & volume, statistics & probability, financial maths).
How does the placement test work?
When you first open the app, a 10-question adaptive quiz assesses your current skill level and places you at the appropriate starting point. You can always go back and complete earlier levels if you want.
My progress disappeared — what happened?
If you were using guest mode, your progress is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data will erase it. To prevent this, create a free account so your progress is saved to the cloud. If you had an account and your progress is missing, please contact us.
Is there an Android version?
A Star Math is currently available on iOS only. An Android version is planned for a future release.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly in the app: open the Profile tab, tap Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently removes your account and all associated data.
Prefer email? Write to privacy@astarlearner.com with the subject line “Delete my account” and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request and delete all associated data within 30 days.
